GENERAL MANAGER INSPECTS MAJERHAT STATION OF PURPLE LINE, BELEGHATA AND BARUN SENGUPTA STATIONS OF ORANGE LINE

Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway inspected the Majerhat station of Joka – Esplanade Corridor (Purple Line)  on 13.05.2023.  Shri Reddy started the inspection of Majerhat station this morning where Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) officials explained him the planning of the station and the passenger amenities which will be available here. Shri Reddy inspected the passenger interchanging points here with Majerhat station of Eastern Railway, Property Development Unit, platform level etc.

 Terming the girder construction work at Majerhat Metro station as an engineering marvel, as this 50-metre girder is the longest girder in Kolkata Metro till date, he has informed that Metro authorities have been working sincerely to clear all the hurdles one by one and requested all the stakeholders to co-operate to complete all Metro projects as early as possible. All efforts are being made to complete the work of Majerhat station before Puja, 2023, he added.

 During this inspection, Shri Amit Roy, ED, RVNL and other senior officials of RVNL and Metro Railway were present.

 Reviewing the Majerhat  Metro work, General Manager expressed his satisfaction and advised all to complete all the pending works within the deadline.

Later, General Manager also inspected Beleghata, Barun Sengupta stations of Kavi Subhash to Bimanbandar via Rajarhat Metro Corridor (Orange Line) and reviewed the progress of the work. He also inspected the piers that are being constructed at Metropolitan near Beleghata Metro station. He also reviewed the traffic diversion that are being arranged there for the smooth execution of this project and instructed Metro officials to plan for utilisation of property development of Barun Sengupta station. He also advised RVNL authorities to complete the construction work at the earliest.
