WELL BABY SHOW-CUM-HEALTH CHECK-UP ORGANIZED AT LILUAH

Eastern Railway Hospital, Liluah organised a Well Baby show cum Health Check-up for children and adolescents on the occasion of children's day in association with ERWWO/ Liluah held at Eastern Railway Officers Club Liluah on 14th of November, 2023 under guidance of CMS/LLH Dr Gopa Majumdar. This program was graced by Principle Chief Medical Director Dr. Mihir Choudhury, ERWWO member Smt. Mahua Choudhury, Chief works manager/ C&W workshop Liluah, Shri Yatish Kumar, ERWWO president/LLH Smt. Smita Goyal.

14th of November is also World Diabetes Day. To celebrate this occasion, all adolescents were screened for diabetes with fasting blood glucose. Their blood pressure was checked. Other parameters like height, weight, general examination like presence of anaemia, systemic examinations of respiratory system, cardiovascular system, locomotor system, central nervous system and Gl system were evaluated. Overall importance was also given to the hygiene and cleanliness maintained by them. Children were divided into four age groups mainly ages 1 to 3, more than three years still six years, 6 to 10 years and 10 years and above. Developmental assessment was done for the first two groups along with their growth parameters. A psychological assessment was done by clinical psychologist for the next two groups. Children aged 3 to 10 years participated in a sit and or draw competition. They were divided into two groups as mentioned above. Children enthusiastically performed in different way like singing, dancing, poetry etc. This programme was meant to encourage the overall development of children and adolescents.

All our dignitaries encouraged this kind of programmes and blessed the children. Other members of ERWWO, Liluah were present along with the Branch Officers of carriage and wagon workshop, Liluah. It is known that the non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension etc. are on the rise among youth also. Hence a health talk on healthy lifestyle was given by Dr. Shilpi Siddhanta, DMO paediatrics and H&FW.

Dr Gopa Majumdar, Chief Medical Superintendent /LLH encouraged all children to be healthy. She discouraged gender discrimination among children by parents and others. Dr. Mou Mitra, and other doctors along with Dr. Disha Nagi DNB PGT/Pediatrics/ BRSH were present for the health checkup. Other nursing superintendents and staff of this hospital were present.

In spite of this time being a festive season, 61 children and adolescents with their parents turned up for this mega event to get their children checked up in order to make the future of their children healthier. Eastern Railway Hospital endeavours to organise more such programs for the benefit of railway beneficiaries.
