Nine Employees of NR to get railway's highest honor- Ati Vishit Rail Seva Puraskar-2023

In recognition for their work and devotion towards duty, nine employees of Northern Railway will be conferred upon the awardees on December 15 in New Delhi during the 68th Railway Week Central Function- Ati Vishit Rail Seva Puraskar-2023. Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon'ble Union Minister of Railways, Communications & Electronics and Information Technology will present the awards at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan New Delhi on 15.12.2023. Nine employees of Northern Railway who will be conferred upon the railways highest honor are:

  • Shri Rakesh Kumar Sharma, station Superintendent/ New Delhi

Shri Rakesh Sharma has consistently exhibited exceptional dedication and proficiency in facilitating the safe return of passenger's valuable belongings. His meticulous efforts have resulted in significant image building and confidence building among passengers regarding Indian railways. His innovative approach to using social media platforms and PNR analysis has successfully tracked and returned items to over 980 passengers, including the foreigners.

  • Shri Yashvir Singh Guleria, As Deputy Chief Signal Engineer/NR/ Ludhiana

Shri Yashvir Singh with firm determination, leadership skills and efficient use of available man power, successfully commissioned various targeted works including critical works linked to DFCCIL, mechanical interlocking to electronic Interlocking and automatic signaling works. He also successfully executed and commissioned electronic interlocking/panel interlocking works involving major yard remodeling in connection with DFFCCIL at Mandi Govindgarh Station and 236 route at Sanehwal station.

  • Smt. Rekha Sharma, Senior DCM/Lucknow

Smt. Rekha Sharma realized overall earnings of Rs. 1979.90 cr., surpassing the target as well as pre- Covid earning of FY- 2019-20, which is the highest ever overall earning of Lucknow Division. Best ever ticket checking earning of Rs. 67.38 cr. has also been achieved in FY 2022-23. In June 2022, best ever record of Rs. 10.98 cr. as ticket checking earning has been achieved in FY 2022-23 which is higher than the target by 77.97%.

  • Shri Matin Ahmed, Deputy Chief Engineer/ Construction/USBRL

Shri Matin Ahmed oversees the Anji River cable stay bridge on the Udhampur- Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link Project. He played a crucial role in supervising the First Cable-stayed Bridge of Indian Railways across Anji River during FY 2022-23. With his meticulous attention and innovative planning reduced the cycle time for segmental launching from 15 to 10 days. Launching a 3500 MT superstructure at a height of 189 meters from the river bed was achieved in a record time of 11 months.

  • Shri Monu Dhankhar, Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer/ Construction

Shri Monu Dhankhar has demonstrated remarkable dedication and efficiency in commissioning multiple projects simultaneously across various locations in Lucknow Division. The projects encompassed TRD and Electrical General Services works for several doubling sections and yard remodeling at multiple locations. His leadership resulted in the successful commissioning of 96.87 TKM of doubling with electrification work and four-yard remodeling projects during the FY 2022-23.

  • Shri Prateek, Executive Engineer

Shri Prateek oversees the challenging Chenab Bridge and Bridge no. 43 on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project. He has played a crucial role in completing the track linking of 10619-ton arch of Chenab Bridge and Deck launching also known as Golden Joint. Under his supervision Bridge no. 43, the second longest bridge in the project was also completed successfully on time. He is reliable, efficient and punctual in execution of duties and contributed significantly to the realization of the Chenab Bridge project.

  • Shri Simranjeet Singh, Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector/Ambala

Shri Simranjeet Singh with his hard work, devotion and dedication gave railway earning of Rs. 1,94,84,660 upto December 2022, whereas his cumulative earnings for the FY 2022-23 have been Rs. 2.25 cr. which is highest individual recovery over NR.

  • Shri Pravind Singh, Assistant Divisional Engineer

Shri Pravind Singh has demonstrated exceptional leadership in achieving remarkable milestones in the ADEN/ Raebareli Section. He oversaw the successful completion of 66 Km of CTR work at a record-breaking rate of 6 Km/ Month using TRT machines, the highest in CTR history. Over 10 Km of CTR work was accomplished in September and October with two TRT machines. Other achievements include the replacement of 52 turnouts with TWS, realigning 60 curves for 130 KPPH etc.

  • Shri Sagar, Clerk cum Typist

Shri Sagar is a sports person and plays Boxing under superheavy 92 + category. He won Silver Medal in Commonwealth Games-2022 and Gold Medal in Inter Railway 2022-23.
