In response to the persistent demand of the local people, Railway has decided to provide additional stoppage of 18621/18622 Patna - Hatia - Patna Patliputra Express at Mathurapur station over Asansol division on an experimental basis. The decision aims to cater to the long cherished demand of the residents and enhance connectivity for the region.

The inaugural stoppage of Patliputra Express at Mathurapur station will be flagged off by Dr. Nishikant Dubey, Hon'ble MP (Godda) on 26.12.2023. The event marks a significant milestone in addressing the transportation needs of the local people.

18621 Patna - Hatia Patliputra Express (journey commencing on & from 26.12.2023) will arrive Mathurapur station at 21:13 hrs and 18622 Hatia - Patna Patliputra Express (journey commencing on & from 26.12.2023) will arrive Mathurapur station at 06:14 hrs. The train will stop at Mathurapur station for one (01) minute in both directions, providing a convenient travel option for the residents of Mathurapur and neighbouring areas.

Railway believes that this experimental stoppage will not only meets the demands of the local people, but also contribute to the overall enhancement of Railway services in the region.
