CR registers Best Ever Freight Loading of 64.09 Million Tonnes for the period April to December 2023

Central Railway registered Best Ever Freight Loading of 64.09 million tonnes for the period April to December-2023, against loading of 58.45 million tonnes for the period April to December-2022, with an increase of 9.7%.

The loading in the month of December-2023 was 7.90 million tonnes as against loading of 7.52 million tonnes for the corresponding month in December-2022. This is the Best Ever Loading figures for December with an increase of 5.1%.

Central Railway has improved performance in all commodities which has enabled it to achieve the incremental loading over the corresponding month last year which has enabled a growth of 7.4% in Freight Earnings over last year.

Central Railway has registered loading of following items in December-2023 as compared to December-2022:

  • 256 rakes of Cement have been loaded as against 216 rakes, which is increase of 18%
  • 128 rakes of Fertilizer have been loaded as against 123 rakes.
  • 122 rakes of Automobiles have been loaded as against 116 rakes.
  • 225 rakes of Petroleum products have been loaded as against 215 rakes.
  • 158 rakes of Iron & Steel have been loaded as compared to 132 rakes.
  • 46 rakes of Iron ore have been loaded as compared to 29 rakes.
  • 26 rakes of De-oiled cakes have been loaded as compared to 15 rakes.
  • NTKM, which is payload of one tonne carried over one km increased by 6.2% in the month of December-2023 as compared to December-2022.
