SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS BEEF UP IN METRO RAILWAY ON THE EVE OF 75TH REPUBLIC DAY

On the eve of 75th Republic Day, security arrangements have been beefed up in Metro Railway to ensure safety and security of Metro users. Intensive security and anti-sabotage checkings are being conducted by RPF, Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB), Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) teams and Dog Squad at different stations and in trains of Metro Railway. SIB and CIB staff have also been deployed in plain clothes to keep a watch on suspicious persons on the platforms etc. Quick Response Teams (QRT) are moving from one station to another to tackle any emergency, if required.

CCTV monitoring has been made more intensive. RPF personnel in plain clothes will be deployed at stations to keep a watch on suspicious persons, if any. Random checking of luggages will be done and more lady RPF staff will be deployed to check lady passengers. Random checks will be organized on platforms, running trains and Railway premises. Few mock drills have already been conducted to check preparedness and alertness of RPF personnel. Parking areas/vehicles parked and rail yards are also being checked with Sniffer Dogs and a Special team has been formed to guard these utilities.
