PM dedicates to nation four rail projects worth more than Rs 940 crore in West Bengal.

In Krishnanagar, Nadia district, West Bengal, the nation witnessed the dedication and foundation stone laying for a multitude of development projects valued at Rs 15,000 crore by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji on 02nd March, 2024. These initiatives span around various sectors such as power, rail, and road.

Notably, four rail projects exceeding Rs 940 crore were inaugurated, including the doubling of Damodar - Mohishila rail line, the introduction of a third line between Rampurhat and Murarai, the duplication of Bazarsau - Azimganj rail line, and the establishment of a new line connecting Azimganj – Murshidabad. These ventures are poised to enhance rail connectivity, streamline freight movement, and catalyze economic and industrial growth in the region.

From an infrastructural perspective, the PM underscored the integral role railways has played in West Bengal's illustrious history. Emphasizing the government's decade-long commitment to bolstering West Bengal's railway infrastructure, he revealed an expenditure twice that of previous periods. The occasion marked the dedication of four railway projects pivotal for the modernization and development of the state, aligning with the resolutions of Viksit Bengal.

Governor of West Bengal, Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose and Union Minister of State for Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Shantanu Thakur were present on the occasion among others.
