WESTERN RAILWAY’S JAGJIVAN RAM HOSPITAL (JRH), MUMBAI ACCREDITED WITH THE NATIONAL ACCREDITATION BOARD FOR HOSPITALS (NABH)

Western Railway’s Zonal Hospital, Jagjivan Ram Hospital (JRH), Mumbai, has been accredited by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH), making JRH the first Hospital over Indian Railways to obtain this coveted Quality Control accreditation. Shri Ashok Kumar Misra, General Manager of WR unveiled the NABH certificate in presence of Shri Prakash Butani, Additional General Manager of WR, Dr. Hafeezunnisa, Principal Chief Medical Director, Shri. Niraj Verma, Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division, Dr. Mamta Sharma, Medical Director of Jagjivan Ram Hospital and other senior railway officials in a ceremony held o­n 4th April, 2024 at Jagjivan Ram Hospital.

According to a press release issued by The Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the NABH accreditation is a prestigious certification that proves that the hospital is dedicated to providing the best facilities for its patients’ care and that the hospital is monitored & examined to ensure the highest levels of safety. It is worth mentioning that very few Govt Hospitals have achieved this accreditation. This accreditation to Jagjivan Ram Hospital is indicative of conforming to the highest quality standards set forth by NABH. The entire team of JRH worked hard for this flagship target.

GM Shri A. K. Misra appreciated the outstanding performance of JRH and congratulated the committed medical team o­n becoming the first Railway Hospital over Indian Railways to have been awarded with ‘NABH accreditation.’ GM urged upon the need of maintaining the quality of services and ensured all support in achieving the standards. He elaborated that the services being provided by Railway Hospitals are at par with any Private Hospital and expressed his faith in Railway Health services.

At the outset, Dr. Mamta Sharma presented glimpses of JRH’s journey and efforts put in for achieving this flagship recognition. PCMD, Dr Hafeezunnisa also congratulated the entire JRH team for taking up and completing this challenging task.
