SCR Cautions Public not to Board / Alight Running Trains or trespass Railway Tracks

South Central Railway accords top most priority for safety of our passengers and public in general. Trespassing o­n railway tracks and engaging in unsafe practices such as attempting to board or alight moving trains pose significant risk to life. These actions not o­nly endanger safety of those practicing it but also disrupt the smooth operation of train services. In this regard, SCR earnestly appeals to all public, including rail passengers, to desist from such practices and cooperate with railways in ensuring safety and safeguarding the lives of all.

We appeal our valued rail users and general public to always follow these precautions while using railways and for moving from o­ne side of the tracks to another:

  • Please do not board / de-board trains while arriving or departing from platforms.
  • Do not board the trains from wrong side. Always use platform side.
  • Please do not trespass railway tracks at Railway stations or in mid-section. Make use of Foot Over Bridges, Subways, Road Over/Under Bridges, Rail crossings, etc to move across railway tracks.
  • Please do not use mobile phones, while walking near to railway tracks or while boarding/alighting the trains.
  • Please do not gather or indulge in any activity or in the vicinity of railway tracks.
  • Please do not indulge in any form of photography including taking selfie in the vicinity of railway tracks.

It shall also be noted that trespassing of Railway track is unlawful under Section 147 of the Railways Act, 1989. He / She shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to o­ne thousand rupees, or with both.
